Proposal
1) The yew is around 40' high and located on the southern boundary of 48B High Street Kintbury adjacent to northern boundary of 3 Wallingtons Road. The Kintbury Conservation Area runs along this boundary. It increasingly blocks light from the cottage below (1 Wallingtons Road) and they have politely requested for it to be reduced in height and width. We have received advice about extent of crown reduction from a arborist/tree surgeon (Higgins Land and Trees of Newbury). The tree is is approx 15m high and 9m across, It consists of many small branches of between 5-8cms diameter radiating out from the trunk. It had been pruned before we bought the property (in 2012) and has not been touched since. We would propose to reduce crown by 1.5m-2m from each side of the crown and 2.5-3m from the uppermost part including the central trunk thus preserving an aesthetically pleasing finish similar to existing but more compact. The finished overall height will be approx 12m. Data via plota.co.uk
