HM Land Registry publishes the owner of every title held by a company, council or other organisation: 4.6 million titles in England and Wales. Plota names each one, with the company and its group from Companies House.

The rest, more than 22 million, are mostly homes owned by people. Their owners appear only on the title register, which HM Land Registry sells at £7 a copy, one title at a time.

So a platform that offers 28 million titles and who owns what is counting boundaries, not the owners it holds. Click a home on one and you get the outline and a button to buy the register. On Plota you get the same outline and a line saying the owner is a private person.
