26/02388/TPO - Approval for works to TPO trees Awaiting decision

Proposal

T1 & T2. Common Lime. Crown height and spread approx 10x5m. To laterally reduce both trees back to their previous reduction points, a reduction of 1-1.5m on average both laterally and in height which will leave finished crowns at approx 8-9x4m. Due to over dominance in their position, encroachment and sapping of the neighbours property to the NNW. Along with overshaded fire escape routes and loss of light to the front of the neighbouring dwellings. T3. London Plane. From NE to SE side of the crown that overhangs the tops of the buildings. Raise this part of the crown to give 3m clearance of the roof and brick work and laterally reduce the same section for 3m back to suitable future growth points. This will leave a distance of 3m from the new pruning points to the historic pollard points. To laterally reduce the remainder of the crown on all other compass points by 2-3m back to suitable future growth points. This is to reduce the overall crown size from a tree which is over dominating it's surroundings including protruding onto dwellings, windows and roof and rubbing brick work. light is now limited onto windows making dwellings dark inside. The tree is also over dominating T1&T2 and the residents have reported an instance of "summer branch drop" To reduce the tree by 4m in height back to suitable future growth points to aesthetically balance the crown after the proposed lateral reductions and reduce the risk of over exposure/sail affect if left not pruned. T3 is approx 20x13m height/spread and proposed reductions to bring the tree to approx 16x10m. T4 &T5. Weeping Ash. Both trees approx 7m high and 4m spread. To raise the crown on the SW, footpath side of the trees only to 3.5m above ground level to prevent vehicle strike. T5 has recently lost a large pendular branch to a passing vehicle. No change in height or lateral spread is to take place. Data via plota.co.uk

Site constraints 6

The Chase conservation area
Demolition needs planning permission and permitted development is restricted.
The council must give weight to preserving or enhancing the area's character and appearance. Not every council has published its boundaries as open data.
Air quality management area: Lambeth AQMA
The council has declared the area as failing an air quality objective.
Schemes that add traffic, parking or combustion plant are assessed against the area's action plan and may need an air quality assessment.

National infrastructure project 896 m away: Thames Tideway Tunnel
The site is 896 m from the project boundary. Waste water treatment, decided. The project page says whether consent was granted.
Nationally significant infrastructure projects (power stations, electricity lines, pipelines, major roads and railways, harbours, airports and reservoirs) are consented by a Secretary of State under the Planning Act 2008, after an examination by the Planning Inspectorate, rather than by the council. The boundary is the one the Inspectorate consults on and can change as the scheme does. Projects are shown within 2 km of the site.

A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
