REAR: ONE: Lombardy Poplar (T1)(ht.20m) FELL. REASON: health & safety, previously crown reduced, around 5yrs regrowth currently, large internal hollow stem cavity identified by tomograph and resistograph investigations report by Enviroscope April 2026 which recommends fell within 3 months and replant with suitable large-growing replacement tree, to section fell with the use of rigging\lowering equipment and free fall techniques to reduce the potential for ground disturbance and damage. Informative A: replacement tree planting is encouraged as recommended in Enviroscope report. Suggest species such as Japanese Pagoda Tree, Kentucky Coffee Tree, Golden Rain Tree (Koelreuteria paniculata), field maple, bird cherry, common pear, wild service tree, Italian alder, Zelkova carpinifolia for amenity, wildlife, flood mitigation and to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change; to retain safe standing stem. Informative B: please leave safe standing stem or high stump and create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative C: The Bat Conservation Trust advises checking thoroughly for roosting bats before and during tree works with soft fell process followed to proceed with care and leave cut timber grounded over night to allow any bats to make their way out, tree works ideally during Sept/Oct to avoid maternity and hibernation seasons when bats are most vulnerable to disturbance.
