2026/3025 - Works to a T.P.O. Tree On-line

Proposal

T1 Apple - Very poor condition. Base has rotten and disconnected from some roots. Very little crown, predominantly taken over by Wisteria from neighbouring property. Suspect a root rot such as Honey Fungus. Turkey tail and Hairy Curtain crust are both on tree, mainly on dead or dysfunctional wood. Remove. T2 Common Beech - The tree is located on adjacent to the boundary fence of no.8 and no.9. The tree has been dying from the tips since 2023 which can be seen in one of the attached photos. Approximately half of the crown has died. I suspect a root rot fungi such as Honey Fungus though I do not suspect Kretz as the crown would likely be in better condition due to the way the two fungi act on the roots. No Armillaria fruiting bodies have been seen due to the time of year the survey took place and likely due to the recent heatwaves. The recent heatwaves will not have helped the tree in defending itself due to the lack of water, but this could also be considered in terms of the Armillaria, as it ideally needs a wet substrate to act on. I suggest removing the tree and replanting as there are a number of high risk targets close to the tree. Both families use their gardens with no.9 having a number of structures within striking distance. Open to suggestion for what to replant, ideally from the RHS list of resistant trees to Honey Fungus (PDF attached). Tree of around 3m to be planted on the property. Data via plota.co.uk
