2026/1202 - Works to a T.P.O. Tree NEW

Proposal

T1 - London Plane - Reduce crown by approx. 2-3m in order to take new re-growth back to previous pollard points. Remove all epicormic growth and major dead wood. Justification - This tree appears to have been historically pollarded, with significant secondary regrowth now developing beyond the previous pollard heads. Returning the crown to these established pollard points will maintain the tree within its historical management regime, preventing excessive limb extension and reducing the risk of structural weakness associated with long, end-weighted regrowth. T2 - Large Yew tree - Lift all lower growth to a minimum of 10ft. Justification - Crown lifting will improve clearance within the garden and around adjacent planting, while retaining the tree???s natural form and canopy structure. The works are limited and sympathetic, removing only the lowest growth to improve accessibility, usability of the garden space, and light penetration, without adversely affecting the long-term health or amenity value of the tree. T3 - Lime tree - Fell to ground level. Justification - The lime tree is of poor form and overall low visual quality, with extensive epicormic growth, basal suckering and unstructured regrowth throughout the canopy. This indicates ongoing stress and a lack of long term structural integrity. The tree is poorly positioned within the garden, limiting its suitability for retention and conflicting with the intended layout and use of the space. It does not contribute positively to the setting and is not in keeping with the overall garden design. There is ample alternative tree cover within the surrounding area, and the removal of this specimen would not result in any significant loss of amenity or canopy value. For these reasons, removal of the tree is considered justified and appropriate. T4 - Lime tree - Reduce crown by approx. 30% taking all new re growth back to previous reduction points and strip all epicormic growth and major dead wood.
