Proposal
Detailed tree identification, dimensions, condition information and other survey observations are contained within the accompanying supporting Tree Health and Safety Report (Reference: ). Tree references within this application are consistent with those used in the supporting tree survey and site plan. This consistent referencing system has been used to ensure clear identification of each tree and prevent confusion. This application should therefore be read in conjunction with the supporting tree survey. T7 – Beech The supporting Tree Survey (Reference ) identifies T7 as a 10 m-tall, semi-mature beech in fair physiological condition. A 1.5m-long, 20cm-deep column of decay, with evident white rot, is present on the south-east side of the stem. Stem-probe testing indicated that the decay extends at least 0.6m vertically up the stem. Given the tree’s location, the survey also identified significant targets within falling distance: a dwelling, utility wires and an adjacent road. Complete removal is recommended to eliminate the potential risk of failure, given the tree’s proximity to the identified targets. Replacement planting is not considered appropriate in this location because the site already contains mature trees and offers limited growing space. A replacement tree, including a species of higher amenity value, would be established beneath the canopies of neighbouring trees, where competition for light and growing space would be likely to suppress its development.
