P26/S3338/TCA - Works to trees in CA Approved

Proposal

G1 Sycamore x3 - Pollard tree at 5 metres from ground level. Reasons for Works: The trees are located within the pub's bin store area in close proximity to surrounding structures. During inspection, it was noted that soil has been built up around the base of the stems above the natural root flare, which may be concealing basal decay. In addition, both trees are exhibiting signs of physiological stress, including crown decline and secondary branch dieback. Given their location adjacent to areas of public access and nearby structures, the trees present an elevated risk to people and property. Pollarding is therefore recommended to achieve a significant reduction in crown weight, allowing the trees to be retained while reducing the level of risk to an acceptable level. Checked on 6 October 2026. The pin for this application is the centre of its postcode rather than the building, so distances to nearby designations are measured from the postcode and can be out by the width of the postcode area. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
