T/26/102187 - Consent under Tree Preservation Orders Valid

Proposal

1no. Silver Birch (T1) - Carry out a crown reduction of 2-3m back to good growth points. 1no. Weeping Willow (T2) - Carry out a crown reduction of 2-3m back to good growth points. 1no. Ash (T3) - Fell (sectional dismantlement) and clear, cutting the remaining stump as low as possible and cross hatch. Self seeded tree low amenity value, growing very close to a telecom post. 1no. Weeping Willow (T4) - Carry out a crown reduction of 3-4m back to good growth points to clear the footpath and highway. 1no. Holly (T5) - Fell (sectional dismantlement) and clear, cutting the remaining stump as low as possible and cross hatching. 1no. Plum (T6) - Fell (sectional dismantlement) and clear, cutting the remaining stump as low as possible and cross hatching. 1no. Purple leaf Cherry plum tree (T7) - Carry out a crown reduction of 3-4m back to previous pruning points. 2no. Lawson Cypress (T8 & T9) - Fell (sectional dismantlement) and clear, cutting the remaining stump as low as possible and cross hatching. No work carried on the trees for many years, have been left to grow too large, the work proposed is interests of good arboricultural management to maintain the trees' health and in the interest of good tree husbandry and visual amenities in the area. (T5 & T6) have grown into each other. Not good specimens with low amenity value. Are being overtaken by brambles, replacement trees would be planted with better spacing. (T8 & T9) Cypress trees do not regenerate from old wood, it is nearly impossible to scale these specimens back to a safe size through pruning without killing the trees or leaving them permanently disfigured. Complete removal is required to eliminate the heavy "wind-sail" hazard they pose to public pathways and building during severe weather. To halt their aggressive root system from undermining nearby foundations. Replacement trees of a more suitable species would be planted. Data via plota.co.uk
