26/3708/TPO - Works to TPO Trees Pending Consideration

Proposal

We are in the process of restoring the enclosed vegetable garden. Over the last few years the previous owner was no longer able to keep on top of the upkeep required. This has meant not only is it completely overgrown, brambles have taken hold and quite a few self seeded saplings have started to appear, we have been advised that they are roughly two years of growth. With a view to returning the enclosed walled garden to a more sustainable vegetable and fruit garden we would like to remove these saplings. This is simply because they have no benefit and would not normally be in this part of the garden. We would not wish to replant as within this space they are intrusive, stopping the planting and growing of vegetables and fruits. We have identified roughly: 10 sycamore between 1 and 3 meters tall with trunk width approximately 2-5cm at widest point. These are marked S1-10. They are all within the raised or low enclosed vegetable beds. 1 common beech roughly 3 meters tall. B1 in the low enclosed bed. 1 holly 2-3 meters tall Holly 1 in the low enclosed bed. 3 oak saplings 2-3 meters tall. Ok 1-3 in the raised vegetable bed. We are also asking permission that the conifer hedge marked H1 be cut back by 30% simply to tidy and help with health and growth Data via plota.co.uk

Site constraints 5

Green belt: Merseyside and Greater Manchester
Inappropriate development needs very special circumstances.
Green belt policy allows a short list of exceptions, such as limited extensions and replacement buildings. Anything else needs very special circumstances that clearly outweigh the harm. Some green belt land can count as grey belt, where it does not strongly serve the green belt's purposes. The council decides this in its green belt assessment or on each application, so we do not mark it here.
