DC/26/144919 - Trees in Conservation Areas Registered

Proposal

REAR: ONE: Ash Tree (T2) Ht 10m approx. FELL to ground level. REASONS: We intend to remove the Ash completely and replace with a small orchard of (4) apple trees, a kitchen garden for growing vegetables, and a wildflower area. The Ash is currently growing close to the dwelling and is casting shade over a large portion of the garden/woodland, making it unsuitable for productive growing. By removing the tree we will be able to create a productive growing space and become more sustainable. There are 2 other large Ash trees in the woodland, so we will increase diversity by planting fruit trees in the area. We also plan to plant vegetables and wildflowers in the area, with the long term goal of attracting more biodiversity into the woodland, including butterflies and bees. The wood from the felled tree will also be used to create safe habitats for wildlife including hedgehogs. All work will be carried out by trained, competent tree surgeons. Data via plota.co.uk
