2026/1865 - Tree Preservation Order Registered

Proposal

Tree Preservation Order EL: - T1 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce overall by 3m to leave a finished height of 18m and a finished spread of 12m. The tree has outgrown its location within the rear garden and has become disproportionately large in relation to the size of the property. The tree now casts significant shade over neighbouring residential gardens and the adjacent school playing field, reducing natural daylight and limiting the enjoyment and practical use of these areas. The proposed reduction is intended to retain the tree as an important landscape feature while reducing its overall crown size to a more appropriate scale for its location. The work will improve the light to neighbouring properties and the school grounds, reduce the tree's dominance within the garden and help maintain an appropriate balance between the tree's public amenity value and its impact on surrounding properties.
