F/YR26/0627/TRCA - Works to trees in a Conservation Area Pending consideration

Proposal

Works to 2 x Cherry trees and 1 x Japanese Pagoda tree within a conservation area Cherry in rear garden- this is circled in yellow on the satellite image This tree has an approximate trunk diameter of 400 mm, is approximately 7 metres tall, with an approximate 5 metre canopy. It is in good condition with no visual defects. This tree been reduced number of times before. We would recommend this tree is reduced by approximately 2.5 metres in height, and by approximately 1.5 metres in lateral growth. This would retain the tree as a manageable size in current location. Japanese begonia tree- this is circled in blue on the satellite image This tree is approximately 6 metres tall, with an approximate 5 metre canopy spread and a trunk diameter of approximately 450mm. It is visually healthy, however as it is situated along the boundary of the rear garden with lateral growth extending over garden towards the house, we would ecommend a lateral reduction of approximately 1.5 metres, back to the growth points. This would retain the tree at a manageable size in its current location. Cherry tree in front garden- this is circled in red on the satellite image This cherry tree is situated along the boundary of the front garden. It is approximately 6 metres tall, with a 4-metre canopy spread and a trunk diameter of approximately 350mm. The tree is healthy, but we would consider its location to be inappropriate for the species. We would therefore recommend it is removed in its entirety, to allow the shrubs and plants and more fitting species to take over the space. It is of low amenity value and not overlooked, so we believe removal would be the best option. Data via plota.co.uk
