Officer report
What officers recommended
Officers recommended approval because the scheme reused brownfield land, supported business expansion and employment, and mitigated open-space loss with £40,000.
“Accordingly, as a balanced approach whilst noting the provisions of the NPPF and policy CSP5, a financial contribution totalling £40,000 has been agreed between the applicant and officers. Ultimately, whilst the loss of open space weighs against the proposal, the contribution is considered to provide appropriate mitigation in this instance. This will be discussed in more detail under the relevant material consideration below.”
