26/3604/TPO - Works to TPO Trees Pending Consideration

Proposal

[5] Cherry Location: Langford Street boundary of the property. Specification: Sectionally dismantle the dying Cherry to ground level, leaving the stump as close to existing ground level as practicable. Reason: Self-set in hedgerow and growing around lighting column, significant crown dieback. [6] Lime Location: Corner of Langford Street and Great King Street. Specification: Reduce lateral spread by approximately 1-1.5m and selectively reduce extended limbs by up to approximately 2m, back to suitable growth points. Crown raise to the main crown break at approximately 4.5m, ensuring a minimum clearance of approximately 5m over the highway. Prune epicormic growth to form a tidy skirt. Prune to provide approximately 0.5m clearance from telephone lines. Remove major deadwood 4cm diameter and greater. Reason: To provide appropriate clearance from the highway and overhead telephone lines and garden/cemetery, while managing extended lateral growth and reducing minor end-weight. Removal of major deadwood will reduce the risk of branch failure over adjacent areas. The works will retain the tree’s overall form and amenity value. [7] Lime Location: Great King Street boundary of the property. Specification: Reduce lateral spread by approximately 1-1.5m and selectively reduce extended limbs by up to approximately 2m, back to suitable growth points. Crown raise to the main crown break at approximately 5m. Remove major deadwood 4cm diameter and greater. Remove basal epicormic growth and sever ivy at the base of the stem. Reason: To maintain clearance over the highway, footpath and garage area, manage extended growth, remove major deadwood and facilitate future inspection, while retaining the tree’s overall form and amenity value. Checked on 7 October 2026. The pin for this application is the centre of its postcode rather than the building, so distances to nearby designations are measured from the postcode and can be out by the width of the postcode area. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
