26/0678/TPO - Works to a tree with a TPO Registered

Proposal

T1 Mature lime (Tilia sp.), approx. 18 m tall at 23 Lupton Drive. Fell to ground level. Remove all arising timber and brash from site. Grind the stump to below ground level (or as directed by the Council) and backfill with suitable material. Make good the ground on completion. No other trees are included in this application. Removal plan 1. A qualified, insured arborist will carry out the work in accordance with BS 3998:2010 Tree work ? Recommendations. 2. The crown will be dismantled in sections using rigging where required so that falling timber does not damage the property, neighbouring land, or the highway. 3. All dead, hanging and decaying wood will be removed as part of the dismantling process. 4. The main stem will be felled or section-felled once the crown is down. 5. The stump will be ground out to a sufficient depth to allow replanting or making good of the surface. 6. All waste wood, brash and grindings will be removed from site and disposed of responsibly. Infected material associated with Ganoderma will not be left on site. 7. Work will be timed to avoid peak bird-nesting season unless a pre-works check confirms no active nests. 8. The site will be left tidy, with any damaged turf or surfaces reinstated. Data via plota.co.uk

Site constraints 6

Public footpath 15 m away
Matters where it crosses or adjoins the site: obstructing a path without a diversion order is an offence, and work cannot start until the order is confirmed.
Compiled from highway authority data, not the legal definitive map. A few authorities have not published, so no path shown is not proof there is none.
Also on the record
Radon affected area, class 4; Coalfield, development low risk area; National infrastructure project 948 m away: Calderdale Energy Park, at pre-application; Inside the Barrowford built-up area; Natural England's Provisional ALC map (1:250,000, 1970s) had this area as grade 4, but it predates the buildings here and the current map does not class it as farmland.
Not affected
Outside flood zones 2 and 3 · Not green belt · No listed building at the site

Checked on 6 October 2026. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England, the Mining Remediation Authority, the Planning Inspectorate, the British Geological Survey and UK Health Security Agency (radon, contains BGS materials © UKRI) and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
