26/3355/TPO - Works to TPO Trees Pending Consideration

Proposal

T33 – Sycamore – HIGH PRIORITY Use: Proposed works: Reduce canopy in height and laterally by approximately 2 metres to reduce stress at the basal union. Remove damaged branches as identified in the accompanying arboricultural report. Reason: Works recommended by the qualified arboricultural consultant following a tree condition and risk assessment, in order to reduce stress at the basal union and manage the identified risk. The report specifies the 2m reduction and identifies T33 as High priority. T35 – Western Red Cedar – HIGH PRIORITY Use: Proposed works: Fell T35 Western Red Cedar to ground level. Reason: Felling recommended by the qualified arboricultural consultant following a tree condition and risk assessment. Please refer to the accompanying Rainfords Arboriculture Tree Condition Survey for the detailed condition and risk assessment and justification for removal. T37 – Common Holly – HIGH PRIORITY Use: Proposed works: Fell T37 Common Holly to ground level. Reason: Felling recommended by the qualified arboricultural consultant following a tree condition and risk assessment. Please refer to the accompanying Rainfords Arboriculture Tree Condition Survey for the detailed condition and risk assessment and justification for removal. Both T35 and T37 are explicitly listed for felling as High priority. There are also some Moderate priority works that require consent, rather than simply deadwood removal. In particular: T8 – Common Beech: Reduce crown by 3m and reduce branches carrying cavities over the neighbouring property back beyond the cavities. T15 – Common Lime: Prune back the competitive stem to the union because it has a failure bias towards the drive. T41 – Pedunculate Oak: Reduce leverage on the identified branch by a 3m reduction.
