DM/0791/26/TPO - Works to a tree with a TPO Pending Consideration

Proposal

T1 (T42 of Order) Sycamore: Fell to ground level Reason: The Sycamore is affected by Honey Fungus, with previous fruiting bodies recorded on site and evidence of fungal activity throughout the rooting area within the canopy spread. The tree has a significant basal cavity, extending approximately 300 mm horizontally and 600 mm vertically, indicating substantial decay at the stem base. The crown is heavily weighted against the direction of lean, placing increased loading on an already compromised structure. Given the tree's condition and its location adjacent to a busy public bridleway, there are reasonable concerns regarding its long-term stability and potential risk to public safety. Site constraints 5

National infrastructure project 310 m away: Hornsea Offshore Wind Farm (Zone 4) - Project Two
The site is 310 m from the project boundary. Generating station, decided. The project page says whether consent was granted. Also within 2 km: Hornsea Offshore Wind Farm (Zone 4) - Project One (decided, 310 m); Viking CCS Pipeline (decided, 391 m); Grimsby to Walpole (at pre-application, the site is inside its boundary).
Nationally significant infrastructure projects (power stations, electricity lines, pipelines, major roads and railways, harbours, airports and reservoirs) are consented by a Secretary of State under the Planning Act 2008, after an examination by the Planning Inspectorate, rather than by the council. The boundary is the one the Inspectorate consults on and can change as the scheme does. Projects are shown within 2 km of the site.

Checked on 16 October 2026. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England, the Planning Inspectorate and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
