26/TCA/2217 - Tree(s) in a Conservation Area Pending Consideration

Proposal

Tree species: Buddleja davidii tree location number: "T1" on the sketch attached. Description of the proposed work: Removal of one tree in the rear garden, immediately adjacent to the shared boundary wall with 5 princes road. The tree is located directly beside a section of the shared rear garden boundary wall which is showing significant signs of structural movement and is visibly leaning towards the neighbouring property at 5 princes road. Concerns have been raised by the adjoining owners regarding the condition of this section of wall and the increased risk of further movement or future collapse. Given the tree’s very close proximity to the wall, there is concern that continued root growth may contribute to further displacement and structural damage. We therefore propose to fell and remove the tree, including removal of the stump where practicable, in order to reduce the risk of further damage to the boundary wall and allow the wall to be safely repaired and maintained. The proposed removal is considered necessary because of the tree’s location immediately adjacent to the structurally affected wall and the associated risk of further property damage and potential harm should the wall deteriorate further. Checked on 6 October 2026. The pin for this application is the centre of its postcode rather than the building, so distances to nearby designations are measured from the postcode and can be out by the width of the postcode area. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England, Transport for London (public transport access levels, Powered by TfL Open Data, OGL v3.0, contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2025) and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
