CAT/2026/0012 - Works to Trees in a conservation area Under Consultation

Proposal

T1 – Yew Reduce crown by approximately 1.5–2.0m whilst retaining the natural form. Undertake approximately 15–20% crown thinning. Reduce lateral branches extending over the neighbouring property back to suitable growth points. Remove deadwood greater than 25mm diameter. T2 – Yew As T1. T3 – Holly Fell to ground level. Grind stump if practicable. T4 – Dead Holly Fell to ground level. T5 – Maple Crown lift to approximately 3m above ground level. Undertake a light crown reduction (approximately 1m) and crown thin by around 15% to improve light penetration whilst retaining natural shape. T6 – Cherry Crown lift to approximately 3m. Light crown reduction and crown thinning. Remove basal and understorey growth to reopen former access. T7 – Cherry As T6. The proposed works are intended to improve the long-term management of the churchyard trees whilst retaining their contribution to the Conservation Area. Crown reductions are minor and sympathetic in nature, reducing end weight and improving clearance over neighbouring property. Crown thinning will improve light penetration and air movement without materially altering the character of the trees. Removal of the small holly trees will improve access and air circulation around the church building. All pruning cuts will be made to suitable growth points in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work – Recommendations. Data via plota.co.uk
