Proposal
Fell - Magnolia tree The tree in question (originally planted as a small shrub) has grown far too large for a small garden. Pruning it in any way will encourage more vigorous growth. It is intended to plant an additional smaller and more manageable shrub in a more suitable position in the garden as replacement. Additionally a more manageable Red Birch tree was planted a few years back, and that has now grown well, but the Magnolia has now grown to overlap with birch tree. Data via plota.co.uk
