Information turret at Land at entrance to Zetland Park, Park Avenue, Redcar
Summary of planning committee decision
Decided by Redcar And Cleveland Regulatory Committee on 16 Apr 2026.
What was proposed
The application sought an information turret displaying local children’s artwork about Redcar’s industrial transition to green energy.
“The application relates to land at the entrance to Zetland Park, Park Avenue, Redcar. The application site is located outside of the northern entrance to the park at the roundabout junction of Park Avenue, Lord Street, Granville Terrace and Coast Road. There is a large area of public footpath and verge between the park and the roundabout on which the turret would be situated.”
“To install an information turret with a new use where local children have their art work displayed themed on the industrial transition of Redcar from heavy dirty industry to green energy future. The project is a partnership between RC / Friends Groups and RWE Windfarm added to the department of energy. It is an investment into the capabilities and perceptions of our young people in illustrated and narrative form.”
