Officer report
Planning history and bat surveys
Earlier committee members resolved to grant permission, after which further surveys found four day-roosts in buildings on Plot 2.
“Members will recall that at this committee’s meeting on 14 August 2025, they resolved to grant planning permission for the Stockport 8 development in accordance with the officer recommendation. That resolution was, amongst other things, subject to further bat surveys of the former Comfortable Gill public house building fronting King Street West with a commitment to return the application to committee should bats be found.”
“Since that decision was made, further surveys have taken place and although bat roosts were not found to be present in the former Comfortable Gill public house building, four day roosts have been found on the buildings currently occupied by Totally Local Company within Plot 2 of the Stockport 8 development (known as the Lundy site). This is also reported in Item 2 on the agenda due to the connection to and overlap with this application.”
