The site is an established recreation ground beside Main Street, where permission had already been implemented for four containers, facilities and parking.

Officers considered the container would enhance community facilities, match the approved buildings and have no material effect on the River Mease SAC or parking.

“The application has been brought forward by a local community group, a football club, that has a long-term lease for use of the land. The additional container would not encroach on the playing field and would be within the envelope of the previously approved welfare facilities; and no objection has been raised by Sport England.”

It would comply with Policies INF6 and INF9 in principle. The additional container would result in an extension to the existing built form onsite, however would be sited within the footprint such that it would not easily be distinguished.”
