What members debated
Councillors queried the reduced parking and welcomed adoptable roads, private gardens and a more traditional house design.
“Councillors raised as to why parking spaces had been reduced and how a lower number could now still be considered acceptable when a higher number had previously been agreed. Officers confirmed that the reduction related to changes in house types and layout, that parking remains compliant with standards and is still considered sufficient. Officers additional highlighted that Highways Authority raised no objection and confirmed acceptability.”
“Councillors showed strong support for roads being built to adoptable standards rather than remaining private with this being seen as a long-term benefit to the residents. • Councillors highlighted the removal of communal gardens and the provision of private gardens for all dwellings, with this being seen as an improvement in residential amenity.”
