Who spoke
Two representatives of Anchor addressed the committee about the organisation’s principles, the need for sustainable older persons housing and improving quality of life.
Members’ discussion
Councillor Sabia Kamali asked about independent review and affordability, and the officer explained the affordable housing and viability arrangements.
“Councillor Sabia Kamali asked about if the proposal has been independently reviewed and whether an affordability assessment was carried out. The officer said the proposal was tied to a commitment in the section 106 agreement which meant that effectively viability assessments are used to make sure that the policy requirement of 50% affordable housing is being met when the scheme is 100% affordable. The requirement is being surpassed.”
