The committee’s vote
Councillor Back moved approval, and the committee resolved to approve the application subject to an affordable housing review mechanism.
“Councillor Back noted that it was an outline application so details of layout would come later. The site was allocated under Policy SAP53 and KCC Highways had no objections. He moved that the application should be approved. Councillor Williams referred to Policy H2 which supported the delivery of affordable homes in rural areas, whilst Policy SP5 mentioned the need for 30% affordable housing in developments of 6 or more houses in rural areas.”
“The Principal Planning Solicitor advised that it was not appropriate to impose a condition requiring the reserved matters application to come back to the Committee as that was an administrative matter. However, officers would make a note on the file to that effect to ensure that Members’ wishes were followed.”
