Proposal

T1 - white poplar (front drive) - reduce canopy by 6m in height, and lateral's reduced by 3m to form a lower pollarded canopy. The aim of the reduction is to reduce leverage and weight on the canopy to reduce the chances of failure. The primary concern is a large developing cavity and area of bark dysfunction which is located on the underside of a main branch at the crown break, which is photographed. The cavity extends to approximately 65% of the way through the main stem from the underside of the branch. Its proximity to the building and most used parking space make the risk of damage and injury high if a failure was to occur. The tree owners like the tree and would love to preserve the tree but are increasingly concerned with the cavity as they have watched it increase over time. The long term aim is to maintain the tree as a pollarded tree, with a smaller structural canopy. Data via plota.co.uk
