2026/2046 - Tree Preservation Order Registered

Proposal

Tree Preservation Order EL: - The tree with the protection order is a Beech Tree. I want to get this tree crowned. On my sketch plan this tree is marked with agreen coloured "X". The reason for the proposed crowning is that the tree is now growing amongst power lines, dropping beech nuts onto pedestrians below, and blocking the light out from the rooms in my house. Its also overhanging my roof allowing squirrels access to my roof and potentially into my loft. I would like to cut the branches back only a little - reducing the diameter of the tree by circa 4 metres in total. The two other trees in question that sit either just within or just outside my boundaries are both Sycamore trees. Again, i want to get these trees crowned. On my sketch plan these trees are marked with 2 blue coloured "X"s. The reason for the proposed crowning is that the tree is now growing amongst power lines, and blocking the light out from the rooms in my house. Its also overhanging my roof allowing squirrels access to my roof and potentially into my loft.I would like to cut the branches on both of these trees back only a little - reducing the diameter of each tree by circa 2 metres in total. The pin for this application is the centre of its postcode rather than the building, so distances to nearby designations are measured from the postcode and can be out by the width of the postcode area. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
