2026/2352 - Tree Preservation Order Registered

Proposal

Tree Preservation Order EL:115 - T1 & T2 - 2 x Silver Birch - fell. Both Silver Birch are poor-quality specimens with significant lean and an irregular/out-of-shape form. Their current growth is beginning to compromise the adjacent Oak, which is considered the priority species for retention and future development. Removal of the two Birch trees will reduce competition for light and growing space, allowing the retained Oak to develop and mature with an improved growing environment. No replacement Birch planting is proposed, as this would reintroduce competition and restrict the available space and light required for the Oak to mature. T3 - Twin stemmed Birch - fell. The tree is twin-stemmed with an included union at a low level, resulting in a structurally weak attachment. One stem has previously been removed at low level and the remaining stump is beginning to decay. The tree is located within a high-target area, with the client???s property, neighbouring property and the adjacent road all within the potential target zone. Felling is therefore proposed to address the identified structural defect and associated risk. A replacement Birch will be planted following removal to maintain the existing Birch avenue and preserve its amenity and landscape value. Data via plota.co.uk
