Refurbishment, retrofit and decarbonisation of the Kennedy Building. Internal alterations to the Kennedy Building to increase the number of office spaces, re-provide wcs and gyp rooms, remove, partially replace and alter the stair circulation, improve accessibility on the ground floor and within the Newnham corridor, improve building services and fire safety. Retrofit works include making improvements to the building fabric including air-tightness, windows, doors, walls, roofs, floors and provision of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery as well as fabric repairs as part of general building maintenance. Removal of the existing plant room and replacement with a new plant room to contain the plant required to decarbonise the Kennedy building, including air source heat pumps and reinstate plant to serve West Clough.
