Proposal
REAR: ONE dead Sorbus tree (T005) Ht 11m FELL. Duty to replace applies ? see informative A below ? replace with Whitebeam (Sorbus aria). REASON: Tree is dead. Extensive areas of necrotic bark. Major decay to stem. Minor to significant deadwood scattered throughout. REPLANTING: Replace like for like so will put in a new sorbus. I would plan to put it in the garden but will take advice from the tree surgeon about the best location. Informative A: the replacement tree planting is hugely appreciated, please select whitebeam (Sorbus aria) for amenity, wildlife and shade to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change. Informative B: please leave safe standing dead stem or high stump and create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity. Informative C: the landowner has a duty to plant another tree of an appropriate size and species when a tree is removed in a conservation area because it is dead or presents an immediate risk of serious harm. Section 213 of Town & Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended). Also ref: Tree Preservation Orders and trees in conservation areas guidance, para 121. Data via plota.co.uk
