Description

Replace 2 metre high leylandii hedge with a 1.8 metre high composite fence. This project was necessitated because the existing hedge died due to contamination of roots with Honey Fungus thread. Replacement of individual diseased trees failed due to recurrent infection of the root system (12 new trees at a cost of ?942.00) Consequently it was concluded that replacement of the old hedge with new plants was not feasible due to the permanent contamination of the soil. The alternative was therefore to replace the hedge with a non organic material. A brick wall was cost prohibitive and the use of a modern composite fence was decided to be the best option.
