What was proposed
The application proposed installing a micro wind turbine and solar power system at a listed K6 telephone kiosk, with associated listed building consent.
“The Chief Planning Officer presented the report entitled ‘P/26/042 & P/26/043: Installation of micro wind turbine and solar power system and associated Listed Building Consent for the K6 Telephone Kiosk, Old Lane, Middle Town, St Agnes (Listed Building) P/26/044 & P/26/045: Installation of micro wind turbine and solar power system and associated Listed Building Consent for the K6 Telephone Kiosk, Cruthers Neck, Higher Town, St Martin's (Listed Building)’.”

Members’ concerns
Members discussed the kiosk’s broken equipment, possible emergency use, missing consultation and the nearby power transformer.
“Councillor H Legg remarked that he had inspected the phone box and couldn’t place a call and there was obviously broken equipment within the unit and that to his knowledge had been the case for at least 5 years, and so to lose the phone box would not be a loss to the community though emergency use would be welcomed.”
“Councillor J Peaock said that he did not recall anyone making a call from the phone box and that if members were to look at the image in the report they could see the power transformer nearby and so to him it seemed odd that no consultation occurred with Western Power.”
Minutes
The vote
A proposal to defer the application was made, seconded and passed.
“A proposal to defer was made by Councillor J Peacock and this was seconded by the Vice-Chairman, and was passed.”
Minutes
