Proposal

Variation of condition 1 of planning permission dated 12 February 2015 (RN:) for the Retention, partial demolition and alteration of the existing building for use as film and music studios (continued Class E use). Works include a partial basement excavation, replacement of the existing roof, installation of new plant and external amenity spaces to the rear, façade and access alterations, highway works and all other works associated with the development. Internal works to include the restoration and alteration of studios MV1-3, removal and alteration of roof trusses, construction of a new studio space and entrance lobby, and removal of studios MV4-7, in order to construct new studio, editing, staff welfare, plant, and office spaces. Namely, alterations to the layout and approach to Studio MV1 to retain more trusses and the original ceiling height, alterations to the approach to the original trusses along the second floor of the building, with all original trusses now retained or adapted, revised plant arrangements resulting in internal and external layout alterations, revised layout to the southern "visual" wing of the building to provide more compartmentalised office space and redistribution of floors to account for the loss of useable area above studio MV1, revised rooflight positioning to reflect the new internal layout, relocation of the external terrace area further to the south; and consequential internal and external design alterations to correspond to the revised approach including minor changes to back of house locations, circulation spaces and amenity areas.
