Officer report

What officers recommended

Officers recommended approval subject to conditions because the proposal complies with relevant policies and would provide needed local retail provision.

“The proposed development is in accordance with the relevant policies contained in National Planning Framework 4 and the North Lanarkshire Local Development Plan 2022 and will deliver local retail provision which is required to support the wider Community Growth Area as well as provide a high quality development appropriate to the surrounding area.”

Officer report

Main planning issues

Officers considered the design, access, parking, servicing, noise, drainage, ecology and residential amenity acceptable, with conditions controlling remaining matters.

“The location of the site within the Community Growth Area is discussed above and found to be acceptable and well served in terms of vehicular and pedestrian access taken from the main vehicular road through the Phase 1 residential site approved under 16/01850/MSC. The internal layout and design of the site are considered to be acceptable.”
