Officer report
Why officers supported it
Officers considered the siting, landscaping, materials and design would integrate the development into the landscape without harming rural character or the area’s special character.
“…landscape with an appropriate design. With regards to the proposed Reserved Matters application the maximum ridge height for the dwelling will be 8.5 meters from finished floor level. The finished materials include smooth render painted walls with concrete mouldings painted roof will be natural slate, grey steel water goods and grey sliding sash windows.”
“In terms of scale, the ridge height shall be no higher than 8.5meters from finished floor level and also noted that any critical views from the public road will be greatly reduced by the mature retained planning and also further north of the siting of Slieve Gallion acting as a natural backstop to the development. The siting of the dwelling and garage this proposal is considered sympathetic to the special character of the area.”
