Formal request for a Screening Opinion from South Downs National Park Authority under Regulation 6(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017 (as amended) (the EIA Regulations), in relation to a development proposal at Morestead Road Wastewater Treatment Works (WTW). - The proposed works are to upgrade the WTW to provide additional storage capacity for wastewater flows during storm (heavy rainfall) conditions. Additional storage / storm capacity will enable excess wastewater flows to be temporarily stored and attenuated during storm conditions and will reduce the risk of discharge of untreated flows from the WTW to the surrounding environment.
