Who spoke
The Senior Planning Officer explained the amended information and the reasons for recommending approval.
The committee’s discussion
Members heard that the revised design would round off existing development, integrate with its surroundings and comply with the settlement-setting policy, despite not meeting the infill criteria.
“The Senior Planning Officer advised Members that, following the deferral of the application at the May Planning Committee meeting, where it was recommended for refusal, additional amended information had been submitted and assessed. This information included amended plans, a proposed streetscape plan, and further supporting information and as a result, the application was now recommended for approval, subject to conditions.”
“The Senior Planning Officer outlined the background and the reasons for recommending that the above application be granted planning permission. He stated that while the proposal did not meet the infill criteria of Policy HOU13, it was considered acceptable in the context of the wider Plan Strategy and the revised dwelling design would appropriately round off the existing built form, integrate with the surrounding development pattern, and comply with Policy DE06.”
