Before you start
- Get an API key (a free demo key works for testing).
- Create a saved alert in Plota for the area and categories you want, and note its alert id.
How to connect Plota to Slack & Teams
Bridge through Zapier or Make
Plota webhooks deliver raw JSON, so use Zapier or Make to format it as a chat message. Set up the Plota webhook exactly as in the Zapier/Make guides.
Add the chat action
In Zapier/Make add Slack → Send Channel Message (or Microsoft Teams → Post Message).
Compose the message
e.g. :building_construction: {{category}} - {{address}} ({{reference}}) {{links.plota}}, mapped from data.application.
Verify deliveries
Each webhook is signed - verify the Plota-Signature header (HMAC-SHA256 over timestamp.body). Full details in the API docs.
