Before you start
- Get an API key (a free demo key works for testing).
- Create a saved alert in Plota for the area and categories you want, and note its alert id.
How to connect Plota to HubSpot
Bridge through Zapier or Make
Set up the Plota webhook as in the Zapier guide.
Add a HubSpot action
Choose HubSpot → Create Deal (simple) or Create/Update Custom Object Record for a dedicated "Planning Application" object (recommended for serious use).
Map the fields
reference → name, address → description, category → a custom property, links.plota / links.council → URL properties. Only attach to a Contact/Company where lawful.
Verify deliveries
Each webhook is signed - verify the Plota-Signature header (HMAC-SHA256 over timestamp.body). Full details in the API docs.
