Plota started in 2025 as a data project about how places change. The site went live in March 2026 and is now the most visited planning search in the UK, with more than 10 million applications from over 390 planning authorities, collected from the councils' own systems and checked every day.
The public search is free, paid for by our API rather than by advertising or by selling anything about the people who use it. A small team in Hackney, and plenty still to build.
