26/2691 - Conservation Area Tree Notification Registered

Proposal

Tree: Goat Willow (T1) is the principal cause of or are contributing to the current building movement and damage. Tree location: In the back garden, aprox. 4-5m away from the S-E corner of the rear extension, towards No. 29 Grendon Gardens neighbour. Aprox. age 10-15 yrs old. Works: If an arboricultural solution is to be implemented to mitigate the influence of the trees/vegetation considered to be responsible for the movement/damage, then the solution is to Remove (fell) to near ground level and treat stump to inhibit regrowth. Damage relates to the rear extension where cracking indicates downward movement. Damage is reported to have first been observed during July 2026. Data via plota.co.uk

Site constraints 5

Demolition needs planning permission and permitted development is restricted.
The council must give weight to preserving or enhancing the area's character and appearance. Not every council has published its boundaries as open data.

2 Article 4 directions
Barn Hill · Article 4 for HMOs. Named permitted development rights are withdrawn here.
An Article 4 direction withdraws particular permitted development rights, so work that would normally need no application needs one here. Not every council has published its directions.

The council has declared the area as failing an air quality objective.
Schemes that add traffic, parking or combustion plant are assessed against the area's action plan and may need an air quality assessment.
