Proposal

T1 – Silver Birch – approximately 15m in height with a crown spread of 5m. Reduce the height of the crown by up to 6m, leaving a final height of approximately 9m, pruning back to suitable growth points where appropriate. Reason for the proposed works: The tree is in decline and the proposed reduction is intended to retain the tree for as long as reasonably practicable whilst reducing the likelihood of branch failure. This level of reduction would not normally be recommended for a healthy silver birch but is considered appropriate in view of the tree's current condition and the objective of prolonging its safe retention. T2 – Silver Birch – approximately 9m in height with a crown spread of 5m. Reduce the height of the crown by up to 2m, or back to the cavity if this is considered necessary following climbing inspection, pruning back to suitable growth points where practicable. Reason for the proposed works: The tree contains a cavity at approximately 6m above ground level. The proposed reduction is intended to continue the management of the tree, allowing its retention whilst maintaining the level of risk as low as reasonably practicable.
