PA/2026/0804 - Consent under Tree Preservation Orders Under Consultation

Proposal

T1 - Mature Beech (Fagus sylvatica) adjacent to a public highway - fell to ground level Reason for Application The mature beech is in advanced physiological decline, exhibiting extensive upper crown dieback, significant deadwood and evidence of decay affecting the upper canopy. The tree occupies a prominent roadside location directly adjacent to a public highway and pedestrian footway, where the consequences of branch or structural failure are high. An adjacent stem/tree has previously failed within the same group, raising further concerns regarding structural stability. Due to the extent of decline and the increased risk posed to highway users, removal and replacement planting is considered the most appropriate long-term management solution. Data via plota.co.uk
