Pump track facility at Sports Field, Sandy Hill Road, Farnham
Summary of planning committee decision
Decided by Waverley Planning Committee on 8 Jul 2026.
Earlier recreational use
The site formed part of earlier public open space permissions and had previously supported a BMX track and related facilities.
“The site is understood to be part of an area covered by planning permission ref. FAR 678/72 for Use of land for public open space 3.7ha (9.26 acres), which was granted on 08/11/1972. Subsequently access was formed over the northern edge of the site from Sandy Hill Road to a BMX track that was located within a main site area that extended from 35m to 200m to the west of the pump track as now proposed. The use of the BMX track ceased in the early 2000s and this area has subsequently reverted to natural vegetation.”
“Certificate under Section 191 for an existing use; for staging BMX racing and freestyle events on BMX track constructed in 1984; for club use to hold practice nights, open club meetings, regional and national meetings…”
