T/26/102257 - TPO Application Valid - Awaiting Decision

Proposal

1 No. Cherry Tree (originating from land opposite Maplecroft, Gashouse Hill, SO31 5AP) - Trees have self seeded on back fill section of earth from when the last houses were demolished. Soil isn’t sturdy enough for mature trees. An oak failed in the same place several years ago causing damage to a car. They do no want to remove the tree, 2m reduction and maintenance on the years after would stop the tree from failing at the roots. Data via plota.co.uk

Site constraints 4

Nutrient neutrality catchment: Solent: Includes Chichester and Langstone Harbours SPA/Ramsar, Solent and Southampton Water SPA/Ramsar, Solent Maritime SAC, Portsmouth Harbour SPA/Ramsar
New homes and overnight accommodation must show nutrient neutrality before approval.
Natural England advice: extra wastewater in these catchments harms protected habitats, so schemes must offset their nutrient load, usually through credits.

A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
