T/26/102282 - TPO Application Valid - Awaiting Decision

Proposal

1no Lime (T10) - To carryout light formative prune to establish and maintain a well-balanced crown structure and natural appearance. Selectively remove poorly positioned, crossing and competing branches together. The dominant central leader and majority of the existing crown will be retained. Pruning cuts will be kept to approx. 25mm or less wherever practicable. Branch length 2.25m, reduce by 0.25m. 1no. Ash (T11) – Prune the mid-canopy branch growth extending over the property boundary back towards boundary fence line. Branch extensions are approx. 1.5m in length, with pruning cuts limited to no greater than 45mm in diameter. 1no. Acacia (T12) – Undertake a targeted tip reduction to first northern lateral, reducing the over-extended northern growth back into proportion with existing crown. Reduce tertiary branch foliage by approx. 0.5m, with pruning cuts limited to approx. 30mm in diameter. 1no. Cherry (T13) – Reduce and reshape canopy, reducing overall height from approx. 9m to 7m, max 2m height reduction. Blend side canopy over extended 4m to 3m, reduction will be blended throughout the crown to retain a natural and balanced ornamental form. Existing lateral crown extension is to be reduced proportionately, retaining sufficient branch structure and foliage to maintain the tree's established appearance. Data via plota.co.uk

Site constraints 6

Nutrient neutrality catchment: Solent: Includes Chichester and Langstone Harbours SPA/Ramsar, Solent and Southampton Water SPA/Ramsar, Solent Maritime SAC, Portsmouth Harbour SPA/Ramsar
New homes and overnight accommodation must show nutrient neutrality before approval.
Natural England advice: extra wastewater in these catchments harms protected habitats, so schemes must offset their nutrient load, usually through credits.
National infrastructure project about 253 m away: Hampshire Water Transfer and Water Recycling Project
The site is about 253 m from the project boundary. Dam or reservoir, accepted for examination.
Nationally significant infrastructure projects (power stations, electricity lines, pipelines, major roads and railways, harbours, airports and reservoirs) are consented by a Secretary of State under the Planning Act 2008, after an examination by the Planning Inspectorate, rather than by the council. The boundary is the one the Inspectorate consults on and can change as the scheme does. Projects are shown within 2 km of the site.

Habitat network: Network Enhancement Zone 2
Where habitat is joined up enough to work as a network. Context, not a constraint on its own.
Also on the record
Radon affected area, class 3; Inside the Eastleigh built-up area; Natural England's Provisional ALC map (1:250,000, 1970s) had this area as grade 4, but it predates the buildings here and the current map does not class it as farmland.
Not affected
Outside flood zones 2 and 3 · Not green belt · No scheduled monument at the site

Checked on 17 October 2026. The pin for this application is the centre of its postcode rather than the building, so distances to nearby designations are measured from the postcode and can be out by the width of the postcode area. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England, the Planning Inspectorate, the British Geological Survey and UK Health Security Agency (radon, contains BGS materials © UKRI) and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
