1x Hybrid Black Poplar. The tree is quite exceptional, and any intervention should be carefully considered and carried out only if required. Previous canopy reduction has left some decay issues with non-occluded wounds and some subsequent vascular compromise. The objective of any prescriptive works would be to preserve what can be regarded as fragile biomechanical status. Remove broken haning branch. Stabilise larger deadwood in tree (over 40mm diameter), leaving stubs. Carry out reduction of overextended laterals into a more compact canopy: • Low lateral to North – reduce by 2.5m • Low lateral to West – reduce by 2.5m • Large heavy lateral to South – reduce by 3-3.5m • Large heavy lateral to East – reduce by 3-3.5m • Thinning, selecting good strong growth points • Any retro formative light pruning adjustments Data via plota.co.uk
