PL/2026/06438 - Consent under Tree Preservation Orders Submitted

Proposal

T006 - Lime tree - 1. Crown lift: prune the lower branches around the tree to achieve a clear stem / canopy clearance of 6 metres above surrounding ground level, with a minimum clearance of 6 metres above the adjacent carriageway surface for branches overhanging the roadway. Remove or shorten low branches as necessary using appropriate pruning cuts, retaining the upper crown. 2. Shrub clearance: remove all shrubs and undergrowth immediately around the base of T006 by cutting them down to ground level. Avoid damage to the lime tree's trunk and roots. No root excavation or stump grinding is proposed. Tree pruning to be carried out by a competent, insured arborist in accordance with BS 3998 recommendations for tree work. No felling or upper-crown reduction is proposed. No replacement planting is proposed because the tree is to be retained. Data via plota.co.uk

Site constraints 8

Nutrient neutrality catchment: River Avon SAC
New homes and overnight accommodation must show nutrient neutrality before approval.
Natural England advice: extra wastewater in these catchments harms protected habitats, so schemes must offset their nutrient load, usually through credits.
Air quality management area: Salisbury City Centre AQMA
The council has declared the area as failing an air quality objective.
Schemes that add traffic, parking or combustion plant are assessed against the area's action plan and may need an air quality assessment.

Checked on 13 October 2026. The pin for this application is the centre of its postcode rather than the building, so distances to nearby designations are measured from the postcode and can be out by the width of the postcode area. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England, the British Geological Survey and UK Health Security Agency (radon, contains BGS materials © UKRI) and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
